The Team

Prof. Yael Kali
Lab Director
Yael Kali is a Professor at the University of Haifa, and a fellow of the International Society of the Learning Sciences since 2021. She is the founding director of two Israeli centers of research excellence—Learning In a NetworKed Society and Taking Citizen Science to School, where she explores technology-enhanced learning and teaching especially within networks of research-practice-partnerships.

Ornit Sagy
Research coordinator
Dr. Ornit Sagy's expertise is in designing and exploring technology-enhanced learning environments to promote an internal-value-based learning culture. Ornit holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Education in Technology and Science, an MBA in Industrial Engineering, and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. In addition to her thirteen years of experience as a software engineer in the Israeli and American high-tech industry, she has taught computer science in high-schools, and graduate courses in technology-enhanced learning at the University of Haifa and the Weizmann Institute.

Keren Aridor
Researcher
Dr. Keren Aridor’s research interests focus on statistical reasoning and technology-enhanced learning. Alongside these interests, she is engaged in the design and exploration of technology-enhanced learning environments. She holds a Ph.D. in Learning and Teaching Sciences and an M.A. in Mathematics Education, both from the University of Haifa, as well as a B.A. in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. Keren has five years of experience as a software engineer at Samsung’s R&D Center. She has taught and co-taught graduate courses at the University of Haifa.

Osnat Atias
Researcher
Dr. Osnat Atias is a researcher of science and technology education and the learning sciences. Her work focuses on understanding knowledge creation processes in situated, collaborative, and multi-expertise learning environments.

Hava Ben-Horin
Researcher
Dr. Hava Ben-Horin is an instructional designer and science-education specialist, focusing on technology-enhanced learning and techno-pedagogical development. She is part of the TCSS school-based citizen science initiative, where she contributes to content development and the design of learning environments that connect students, teachers, and scientists

Shai Goldfarb Cohen
Researcher
Dr. Shai Goldfarb Cohen is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Learning and Instructional Sciences, University of Haifa. She holds a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed additional postdoctoral research at Ben-Gurion University.
Her research sits at the intersection of learning sciences, educational technology, and digital information literacy, examining how learners engage with complex information in digital environments. She focuses on generative AI, collaborative learning, and the critical evaluation of online content. Using design-based and mixed-methods approaches, her work bridges theory and practice to advance critical thinking in today's digital landscape.

Yuval Segev
Researcher
