INSIGHTS for Upscaling of
School Participation in Citizen Science (SPICES)
Funded by the Israeli Science Foundations' Breakthrough Research Grant (Mapatz), we study how school-academia partnerships can spread and deepen educational innovations.
Our pilot studies are conducted with the Taking Citizen Science to School (TCSS) center.
We are seeking collaboration with additional school-academia partnerships.
Research
Current models of scaling-up of educational innovations are based on productive interactions within and across hierarchical levels of educational ecosystems. But school-academia partnerships are often less hierarchical and tend to extend such ecosystems. We suggest moving away from the within-educational-ecosystems model to a school-academia-networked model of upscaling such educational innovations.
